Gorgeous Grunge

Back in October, I went to the coast with my stampin' buddies for 4 days of crafts and cards. While I was there I made this card for my workshop I was having a couple weeks later. I got the idea from a card I saw online.

I made 2 others using different colors, but I can't seem to find the pictures I took of them. Bummer, since I liked them a little more than this one.

Supplies:
Stamp Set:  Gorgeous Grunge, Petite Petals, Remembering Your Birthday
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White
Ink: Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: Petite Petals Punch, Rhinestones

Regarding Dahlias

Yikes! Has it really been 3 months since my last post!! Busy, busy, busy. I've been getting projects ready for the holiday bazaar I'm doing at the end of November. So much to do...

This card is one that I planned for my workshop last month. Regarding Dahlias is one of my favorite sets. It's the first time I used mine and I love how it turned out. I used gold embossing powder to bring out the gold in the DSP. The flower took me 15 minutes to cut out, but I think it was well worth it. The paper snipes made it super easy.

These pictures really don't do the cards justice.

Supplies:
Stamp Set:  Good Greetings, Regarding Dahlias
Cardstock:  Garden Green, Whisper White, Gold Soiree DSP
Ink:  VersaMark
Accessories:  Whisper White Baker's Twine, Calypso Coral Embossing Powder, Gold Embossing Powder, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, Paper Snipes

I Like You

The I Like You hostess stamp set in the new catalog was a must have just because of the name. My little man is 3-years old and he always says to me, "Mommy, I like you." It's so sweet.

A few weeks ago, I got together with my upline and other fellow demonstrators for a fun night of stamping. We each planned a swap card and had all the supplies for everyone to make one. We stamped a total of 9 cards that night. It is so much fun hanging out with these ladies. They are all so nice...and creative!

This is my swap card. I used the I Like You set and the Gold Soiree DSP.

I stamped the image using the VersaMark pad, sprinkled Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder over it, and then used my heat tool to set the powder. My Blender Pens were used to color in the flowers and since there was gold in the DSP and the image, I put gold sequins around to add a little something. I usually don't like gold when it comes to cards, but I like how this card turned out.

Supplies:
Stamp Set:  I Like You
Cardstock:  Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe, Garden Green, Whisper White, Gold Soiree DSP
Ink:  Garden Green, VersaMark (Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding - for coloring in flowers)
Accessories:  Labels Collection Framelits, Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder, Blender Pens, Square Punch (for cutting banners), Gold Sequin Trim, Big Shot

So Very Happy!

I ordered a bunch of new goodies from the new catalog a couple weeks ago and was very excited to get some time to play with some of my new stuff. So Very Happy is one of my new stamp sets. I didn't even realize when I ordered the set that I had the blossom punch that coordinates with the flower stamp. The washi tape is new too...it's called Beach House

I used my Blender Pens to add some color to the center of the flower and then added some Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter on top. I like how it turned out.

Supplies:
Stamp Set:  So Very Happy
Cardstock:  Crushed Curry, Pool Party, Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Crushed Curry, Pool Party, Real Red
Accessories:  Beach House Washi Tape, Blender Pens, Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter, 2-Way Glue Pen, Blossom Punch

Zoo Babies

I never have baby cards on hand so I bought the Zoo Babies stamp set a while back with the thought that I was going to spend a day making nothing but baby cards. That was months ago and I finally got a little time earlier this week to play with this stamp set. So cute!

The little toucans were stamped with VersaMark and then I used Silver Embossing Powder. Although you can't see in the picture they are raised a little and shiny silver. Looks good.

These little monkeys needed something so I added glitter to their bellies. Much better.

Supplies:
Stamp Set:  Zoo Babies
Cardstock:  Basic Grey, Chocolate Chip, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush, Whisper White, I am Me DSP
Accessories: Modern Label Punch, Word Punch, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Ruffle Stretch Trim - Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush (retired), VersaMark, Silver Emboss Powder, Heat Tool

Firetrucks

Abigail's preschool class had a field trip to the Oregon City Fire Department last week. Her teacher asked if I would make cookies so I did, but then I was looking on Pinterest and found some adorable candy bars with firetruck wrappers. I had less than a day to go to the store and find candy bars that would work for these, as well as make them. I worked into the evening, but got them done.

You can find the directions here. I added the ladder because Abigail said that it isn't a firetruck if it doesn't have a ladder.

Kids and firemen loved their firetrucks! Hershey Bars, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and Kit Kats...who wouldn't love that?

Workshop

The weather has been so nice, who wants to be inside? Me and the kids went to the zoo today and got to enjoy the sunshine. Now they are napping and I have time to update my blog...wish I was napping.

I have a workshop planned for this Saturday and these are the cards we are making.

I love these File Folder cards. I've seen them everywhere and finally decided to make one. I think they would be perfect for a teacher or someone who is super organized, not me.

I included a Whisper White insert so you can include a note. The Bakers Twine is tied around the card to keep it closed.

Stamp Set: Just Sayin', Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock: Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Whisper White, I am Me DSP
Ink: Calypso Coral
Accessories:  Envelope Punch Board, Pool Party Bakers Twine, Ovals Collection Framelits, Word Bubbles Framelits, Big Shot

These cards very popular right now. I used the Scallop Tag Topper Punch for the closure part. I thought any mother would LOVE to get this card for Mother's Day.

I positioned the sentiment just over the hole where the ribbon goes so you can't see it.

Stamp Set:  Delightful Dozen
Cardstock:  Basic Black, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet DSP (Sale-a-Bration)
Ink: Black StazOn
Accessories:  Scallop Tag Topper Punch, Labels Collection Framelits, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Pear Basic Jewels, Big Shot

My friend/fellow demonstrator, Heidi Boos, gave me this card for my birthday and I loved it. Everything about it. I copied it exactly, because you can't mess with perfection, but I used different DSP, ink colors, and ribbon color. It's almost as cute as hers.

Stamp Set: Gorgeous Grunge, Starburst Sayings
Cardstock: Silver Glimmer Paper, Whisper White, Birthday Basics DSP
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Crisp Cantaloupe, Raspberry Ripple
Accessories: Crisp Cantaloupe Ruffle Stretch Trim, Starburst Framelits, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Big Shot

Workshop Cards

I had a workshop in March...3 cards for $6 and these were the cards we made.

This card uses Banner Blast stamp set and Banner punch, both from the Sale-a-Bration catalog. I was inspired by a card from one of my fellow demonstrators and friend, Heidi Boos of Stuck on Stampin'. She makes the best cards! Love her style!

Stamp Set:  Banner Blast (Sale-a-Bration), Remembering Your Birthday
Cardstock:  Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake, Real Red, Whisper White, Fresh Prints DSP
Ink:  Coastal Cabana
Accessories:  Banner Punch (Sale-a-Bration), Banners Framelits, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Pearl Basic Jewels, Big Shot

I like how this card turned out. Love the Coastal Cabana Ruffle Trim along the Chalk Talk tag.

Stamp Set: Starburst Sayings
Cardstock:  Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, Very Vanilla, Retro Fresh DSP
Ink:  Baked Brown Sugar, Tangerine Tango
Accessories:  Chalk Talk Framelits, Starburst Framelits, Circles #2 Bigz Original, Coastal Cabana Ruffle Stretch Trim, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Big Shot

I was going for an easy card that didn't use the Big Shot and I thought Washi Tape would fit the bill. When it first came out, I wasn't too sure if I would like it, but I do. It's fun to use, peels off if you make a mistake, and comes in coordinating sets of three. And you can use it for so many more uses other than cards!

Stamp Set:  Yippee-Skippee!
Cardstock:  Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Ink:  Island Indigo
Accessories:  Garden Delight Washi Tape, Decorative Label Punch, Extra-Large Oval Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Lalaloopsy Party Invites

Abigail just celebrated her 5th birthday. It's hard to believe. She asked for a Lalaloopsy party so we got online and between Pinterest and Etsy, we put a "sew" cute party together. I found a cute party package on Etsy by nslittleshop for making her invitations, birthday banner, and other accessories.  Click here to view party package.  Saw buttons made by punching black circles and gluing them on paper plates on Pinterest. We hung them randomly on the walls.

These were the invitations I made. I LOVE them! I mixed the Iridescent Ice and White Stampin' Emboss Powder and used the Positively Chevron background stamp, VersaMark pad, and Heat Tool for the background. You can't see the sparkle in the picture, but it's there. Cute!

Buttons on the walls...

Banner I printed from the party package I purchased.

Burlap and Blooms

I kept seeing all these Stampin' Up! wreaths online and I thought, "Did I miss something?" Yeah, just the page where the Burlap and Blooms Simply Created Wreath kit is in the Occasions Catalog. I bought one and planned to spend an afternoon putting it together while the kids napped. 3 weeks later...

Yes, I took the picture crooked. Just tilt your head.

I added the Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon because it just looked like it needed something.

Supplies:

Coffee!! Coffee!! Coffee!!

Being the coffee lover that I am, I just had to have to Perfect Blend stamp set. So cute!

Starbuck gift cards are one of my favorite things to receive. Coffee makes grocery shopping, running errands, trips to the park...so much more enjoyable. The idea for the flap on the inside of the card came from Dawn Griffith. I think this card is PERFECT for a coffee gift card.

I cut the Crumb Cake card base at 5 1/2 x 10, scored at 4 1/4 and 8 1/2, and used Sticky Strip to hold the inside flap down. PERFECT to hold a gift card...or money.

Stamp Set: Perfect Blend
Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral, Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories: Top Note Bigz, Needlepoint Border Embossing Folder, Calypso Coral/Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine, Big Shot, Designer Buttons - Early Espresso

Celebrate A SWEET Birthday!

I've had some time lately to play in my craft room which is very rare. Kids have been playing hard and tuckering themselves out. Got to love nap time! I bought the Cycle Celebration stamp set a couple months back but never had the chance to ink it up. The Sweet Shoppe DSP is one of my favorites and I think the "celebrate a sweet birthday" stamp goes perfectly with the paper.

Card inspired by Laura Mellinger

I like the layers I made using punches. Makes it pop!
