Sweet Ice Cream

It's October! How did that happen? The last of summer flew by and then so did the first month of school. So far so good. Kids are happy to be back and I'm happy about it too!

This card is one we made at a summer class. I got busy and didn't post it. When I made it for my class, I made it just a regular card, but one of my ladies suggested putting a piece of the Ice Cream Corner DSP on the back to make it a gift card. Great idea!

Thanks for looking!

Cute Fruit

Hi! Hope all is well in your world. Things are good here, just a little crazy with building a house. Foundation is being poured later this week. I've got a card class planned for this Saturday. I need to clean, but the dust from the excavation is insane! I'm going to put it off until the last minute and then regret my decision because I'm so stressed trying to get it done in time.

This card is from a challenge my upline had put together for the month of June. I bought the stamp set Cute Fruit when I first saw it because it's so...cute. I kept pulling it out to come up with a card, but nothing was coming to mind. Then it retired and then I came up with something. Of course...

I really wanted to use the banana, but that was too much yellow.
I love how bright and cheery this card is.

Stamp Set: Cute Fruit
Cardstock: Calypso Coral, Garden Green, Whisper White
Ink: Early Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Garden Green, Mango Melody, Old Olive, Real Red

Thank You's

Hello! How's it going! Good here. I forgot to post the project I made for Teacher Appreciation week. We celebrated our amazing teachers and I made some little cards to go along with one of their gifts.

At our elementary school, the PTA had a slow and not much happening year with COVID, but we had two lovely parents help out with some things so the PTA wanted to send them a Thank You. I made these gift card holders and we put a coffee gift card in them.

I LOVE the Mini Treat Bag thinlits. One of my favorites. It's retired, but still gets lots of use.

Card Recipe

Stamp Set: Harvest Hellos / Coffee Cafe

Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Garden Green, Real Red, Whisper White / Pattern Party DSP, Poppy Parade, Whisper White

Ink: Early Espresso / Granny Apple Green, Poppy Parade

Accessories: Coastal Weave 3D embossing folder, Apple Builder Punch / Mini Treat Bag thinlits, Poppy Parade mini striped ribbon, Coffee Cups framelits, Pool Party/Whisper White baker's twine

Timeless Tropical

Hi! This weekend has had the perfect amount of chores and fun time so far. Yesterday, my husband and I worked on the fence to keep the cows in and then we worked in the garden. I spent a little time working on some cards and then we got in the pool. Today, I will make some homemade donuts and work on some cards. My daughter and I will clean out the bunny cage and I'll probably pull weeds in the garden again. Then back in the pool.

This card in one we made at my June class. I've been trying to have one masculine option at my classes so this was what I came up with.

I like how the palm trees in the DSP is more than one color. To copy that, we stamped the palms in Old Olive and then used Stampin Sponges dabbed in Pretty Peacock and then tapped randomly on the palms to make the different colors. Turned out nice, I think.

Free as a Bird

Hello! Hope you all had a good week! We are headed into a sunny weekend which means pool time!

This is a card we made at my June class. I was inspired by a card my daughter had made during an ice storm we had back in February . We lost electricity so we wore our headlamps and crafted in the dark. I changed it up a bit by adding the ribbon and the cut out flowers. She used Poppy Parade cardstock and stamped the flowers with Poppy Parade ink. I wanted them to stand out a bit more so I stamped mine in Soft Suede on Crumb Cake cardstock.

I didn't add a sentiment because sometimes it's just nice having a blank card on hand. I can always stamp the inside with one when I need to.

Card Supplies:

Stamp Set: Free as a Bird

Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Whisper White

Ink: Soft Suede, Momento Black, Stampin' Blends (Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede)

Accessories: Big Shot, Stitched Nested Labels dies (retired), Poppy Parade ribbon (retired), paper snips

Handsomely Suited

Happy Weekend! We survived our first full week of summer break. I heard a gazillion "mommy, mommy, mommy" while working, but I'm sure I'll learn to tune that out. Ha!

We used the Handsomely Suited set at my May card class. Some of my ladies made birthday cards and some made Father's Day cards. This set has matching dies so there is lots you can do with it. I have very few masculine sets so I hope to use this one a lot more in the future.

Stamp Set: Handsomely Suited

Cardstock: Basic Gray, Misty Moonlight, Whisper White

Ink: Basic Gray, Misty Moonlight, Smokey Slate Stampin' Blend

This simple card is one we made at my May class. It uses sale-a-bration items which are retired, but too cute not to use.

Ornate Style

Happy Mother's Day! Hope all you mothers out there are having a lovely day. I had my May card class yesterday and we had a nice day of making cards, eating cupcakes, and drinking mimosas. Today was filled with more mimosas and a run. Great weekend!

This is one of the cards we made yesterday. I worried that it was too busy, but the ladies loved it.

I couldn't decide which paper to use so I had options.

I made a third, but I dropped it on an open stamp pad as I finished it. Don't you hate it when that happens? I could have cried. Oh well, won't be the last time I do that.

Stamp Set: Ornate Style
Cardstock: Old Olive, Terracotta Tile, Whisper White, Ornate Garden Specialty DSP
Ink: Memento Pad
Blenders: Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive

A Touch of Ink

Hi! Sale-a-bration happened in January-February so I'm a bit late in posting this card, but it's pretty and I thought "why not?"

My fellow demonstrator/friend, Polly Crouch, made a card using this set at one of her card classes and I loved it so I had to make one similar for my card class the following month.

It uses two free items from Sale-a-bration (and a couple retired items too).

We used Wink of Stella on the bird, but you can't really see it in the photos.

Card Recipe:

Stamp Set: Touch of Ink

Cardstock: Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Blackberry Bliss, Rococo Rose, Oh So Ombre DSP

Ink: Memento Black, Bermuda Bay, Blackberry Bliss, Rococo Rose

Accessories: Big Shot, Wink of Stella, embossing folder (retired), paper snips, Artistry Blooms Sequins

Seaside Notions

It's raining today. Normally that makes me sad, but today it makes me happy because it means I can spend my time making cards.

This card is one we made at my March card class. Seaside Notions stamp set is retiring in June so I thought I would use it again.

I used DSP from the Whale of a Time pack. It goes well with the seahorse image.

Sweet Strawberry

Wow! It's been a while. I would have thought I would have more time being home with the COVID lockdown this last year, but that's not the case. Just as busy, if not more.

I'm still making cards and still having classes (recently) and still trying to keep the chaos under control. My kids are growing so it's a different kind of chaos, but still just as crazy.

This is a card I made for my March class. I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest (I will find it and give credit). I tried to change it up a little from what she had done, but it's hard when it pretty close to perfect.

Makes me want to run out and buy strawberries for planting.

Card Recipe:
Stamp Set: Sweet Strawberry
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Granny Apple Green, Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Blueberry Bushel (retired), Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Real Red
Accessories: Stamparatus, Strawberry Builder Punch, Big Shot, Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder (retired)
